Our History
OUR HISTORY:

1998        Aran & Franklin Engineering, Inc. began as a partnership between Dan Aran &
               W. D. “David” Franklin as a home-based engineering consulting firm in
              Southeast Texas.
2002        Dan Aran died September 19, 2002
2004        Opened  office in Galveston TX.
2006        Welcomed Chandra Franklin Womack into the firm as a graduate engineer.
2008        Relocated Main Office to LaMarque after damage by Hurricane Ike.
2010        Began servicing clients out of Crystal Beach location.
2010        Chandra Franklin Womack earned Professional Engineer status.
2011        Welcomed Robert Dinjar into the firm as a graduate engineer.
2012        Moved to a permanent home at 501 S. Noble Rd., Texas City.

WHO WE ARE:

W. D. “David” Franklin, P.E., has been president of Aran & Franklin Engineering, Inc since
2002.  He is a 1971 graduate of Lamar University in Beaumont with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Civil Engineering.  He worked in management for Mobil Oil Corporation for 25 years
before venturing back to his roots in Civil Engineering.  He is a member of several professional
organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers.  Most importantly he is a fully
licensed Texas Professional Engineer in good standing, a TDI Windstorm Appointed Engineer,
an approved engineer for the Institute for Business and Home Safety, and on the Board of
Directors for the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association.  He also serves on City of Galveston
Building Board of Adjustments and the Building Code Committee.

Chandra Franklin Womack, P.E., is a 2006 graduate of Lamar University with a BS in Civil
Engineering.  She earned her Texas Professional Engineer license in 2010 and also is
licensed on Louisiana.   She is a TDI Windstorm Appointed Engineer and a member of A.S.C.E.  
She has performed the windstorm design on thousands of structures in the Golden Triangle
and Bolivar Peninsula.

Robert Dinjar, Engineer., is a 2011 graduate of Texas A& M University, College Station, with a
BS in Civil Engineering.  Robert has been an intern with A&F for since the Summer of 2010 and
did his Senior Design Project on Land Development of a Commercial Enterprise with focus on
Windstorm Design.

David, Chandra and Robert are supported by four full time field inspectors, eight front office
employees, and a full time production staff.  They are well qualified to handle your Windstorm
and Structural needs.
